The future of the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation and the new "Wings of Liberty" Military Museum depends on the generosity and support of the many people who are committed to ensuring the legacy of the soldiers, units, and branches of service that served at Fort Campbell is preserved and made available to educate our future generation. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving the past, honoring the present, and educating the future. The Fort Campbell Historical Foundation is a 501 (c), (3) non-profit charitable, organization, which supports the museum.

As an outgrowth of our democratic society, Americans are traditionally charitable people. In the past several years, the Federal tax laws have seen many major changes. Through it all, however, Congress has retained many of the incentives for us to continue to be charitable. Congress has provided and preserved tax incentives, legal ways to reduce a person's federal tax requirements, by allowing the deduction of gifts to qualified charitable organizations such as The Fort Campbell Historical Foundation.

As a result, you have two great reasons for charitable giving: (1) the gift itself provides support to an institution which has real and specific meaning to you, the giver, and (2) the gift can be a method of reducing your legal tax burden and thus saving money in the long run.

There are a number of ways to support The Fort Campbell Historical Foundation through Planned Giving Programs. They range from direct gifts to deferred gifts and even include gifts that can ensure you of income and security in years to come. The main word is PLANNED. By putting a little planning into your charitable giving, you may find that there are some major advantages, not only to the Foundation, which receives your support, but to you, the giver, as well.

There are many variations of these gift plans for those with larger estates. These plans can be tailored to your desires and family needs. The benefits of these plans are in the advantages provided toward gift and estate taxes. These plans need to be discussed with your attorney and tax advisor. We cannot cover everything you need to know about Planned Giving in a single document. The Planned Giving coordinator at The Fort Campbell Historical Foundation is ready to talk with you, your attorney, or your professional tax advisor about any of the ideas in this document and how they may apply to your specific situation. Those who are able to make an estate commitment make it possible for us to plan new exhibits and educational programs for the future. The Foundation honors and recognizes our Planned Giving supporters through the "ANGEL WING SOCIETY". Contact Sheryl for further information at (931) 431-2617.
